Weird & Twisted Yarns...Just My Style!

I'd like to introduce you to a very special yarn shop...

WeirdAndTwisted's Shop Announcement
Weird&Twisted, two ambitious yarn designers, stand for quality Art Yarns. We produce unique artistic fiber creations - with a twist!

We love to create outstanding yarns. We get our inspiration from fairy tales, music, mythology and everyday life, but we aren't afraid of a tiny bit of trashy attitude! ;-)

Weird&Twisted stand for quality. For our high class yarn creations, we use but the best materials wherever possible. We combine fine, soft wool, silk and alpaca fibers with beautiful glass pearls, shiny cut glass crystals, semi precious stones and other quality supplies.

We update very frequently! So be sure to step in often and watch our selection of exquisit Art Yarns grow!
If you want to keep yourself posted about our latest yarns and our new, weird ideas and perhaps want to take a glimpse behind the curtain, drop in on our blog
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Their yarns have names like Punk Rock Barbie or The Ice Queen's Kiss, which is why I'm so honored that my Cranberry Bing Cherry Red Berry Handknit Scarf, Perfect Warm Gift for Australians
treasury was chosen for their latest treasury of deepest reds (sometimes complimented by blacks)!
IT'S COMING! treasury including my Violet Purple, Teal Aqua Turquoise, Blue-Green Handknit Boa Scarf to build excitement because....June 14 is WWKIPD! What's WWKIPD, you ask? Click here to find out! Valiant Valerie Leaves Me Speechless...
I've been procrastinating for over an hour on writing this post because I so want to do justice to how special Valerie of the future etsy online gallery mistflowerstudio truly is. Valerie's BaileySue shop on Etsy isn't open yet, so please check her out at her current Mist Flower online studio, featuring mosaics, paintings & more.
Valerie was up all night last night, as she is so many nights. You see, she devotes herself as a volunteer to Catahoula United Rescue Society (C.U.R.S.) to help homeless dogs find loving, permanent homes with adoptive families. Just two irresistible examples from the C.U.R.S. website:
"Sarah was pulled from a high kill shelter in AL along with her 7 puppies. She was an excellent young mother and now it's time for her to enjoy the good life."
"Teddi is approximately 1YO. He gets along well with cats and dogs and loves to run around and play?"
I can see why she finds these precious, innocent dogs in need so compelling!
Amazingly enough, Valerie has even found time to put together a very special surprise for me: She's built an entire Treasury around my Carnival Circus Clown Yellow Orange Brown Black Turquoise Blue Aqua Handknit Gift Scarf, which has never happened to me before! Thank you, Valerie, you're a hero in so many ways. I can hardly wait to get to know you better; with all that good karma, you're bound for Etsy success! :)
Sunshine & Citrus from RegalBeads!
Orange is my favorite color; so I especially love this gorgeous, beaded bracelet from RegalBeads.etsy.com. Besides, I tried my hand at beading in a grade school elective--which was just enough learnin' to convince me to leave beading to the pros like RegalBeads!
Now, I know the picture of RegalBeads' work above is a bracelet, but I like to pretend it's a juicy, kumquat crown! The image above is also RegalBeads' avatar (small picture that appears whenever she posts in the forums at Etsy.com), and I always love to see it and her positive, encouraging forum posts!
Like me, RegalBeads likes citrus-y images that match her optimism and sense of fun, and she's created a treasury full of yellows and oranges, at http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=41124 through Saturday. Thanks for including my new Yellow and Orange Summer Sunshine Handknit Scarf, Regal! :)
Phydeaux is Fetching!
Brenda of Phydeaux.etsy.com is special, a rare and precious gem. She's relatively new to the etsy marketplace community, having just joined the end of January. But you'd never know it by her professional presentation, friendliness and confident kindness.Like me, Brenda specializes in selling gorgeous, handknit scarves for year round wear. So, you think we'd be at each other's throats, trying to elbow one anoher aside so the "winner" could grab all the sales. Far from it! The truth is, we avidly support one another! We both belong to http://etsyfast.com (Fiber Arts Street Team), where we work to raise awareness and sales for fiber art. We're all in this together and there's enough success to go around!
Just one small example of Brenda's generosity and teamwork, she's just created two new treasuries (collections to show off others' items). They're here and here through Monday. One even includes my Solid Gold Yellow Sunshine Handknit Scarf for All Seasons Year Round Wear (shown below, Brenda's beautiful designs are above). Please also check out her blog today!
I'm honored that she chose one of my scarves (shown below) and wanted to highlight one of my very favorite items from her shop, the Seahorse skirt! Isn't it gorgeous? I've included both a full body shot and a detail...what talent!
Then, there's her VickiOrion.etsy.com online boutique, which is gorgeous! Must be all that inspiratin from living in Alaska, which sounds like APeacefulLife indeed!
BrazilNative's Jewelry: Exotic AND Eco-Friendly!
BrazilNative.etsy.com is such an awesome shop!! Not only is all of the jewelry there beautiful, tropical, resort-worthy & stylish...it's also made from seeds, bark, etc from beautiful Brazil! I couldn't decide on just one example to show you, so please check out these two, gorgeous designs to see what I'm talking about...
Brazil is *the* hip place for music, performance art, culinary delights, fashion, etc, etc, etc...it's also home of the Brazilian rainforests, which are severely threatened by deforestation. Why are the native fauna being extinquished, even though the rain forests' diversity
has brought us many of our modern day pharmaceuticals? The land is being cleared to make way for housing, livestock & conventional agriculture. So, what's so neat about BrazilNative is it creates a market for materials harvested from an intact biosystem. Here's another example: Brazil nuts will not grow under cultivation. They HAVE to be wildharvested from a healthy rainforest.
So, sit back, relax at your computer, order up some Brazil nuts and some gorgeous jewelry from BrazilNative...and then go out and show it off! :)
Spring, Trees & Limes...MMmmmmm!!!
Now, Tammy (RainbowMom.etsy.com) is a color addict, just like me. And we don't just love a few favorite colors...we love 'em ALL! :) It's even better if they're in crazy combinations...if you don't believe me, just take one look at her banner above. ;) Her eclectic style is obvious in her "I Want Candy" bracelet below.
So, I really admire her restraint in picking only a few, very refined colors (Spring, Trees & Lime) for her latest treasury, which is a collection of items all together on one web page. See what I mean at http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=6293 through Wednesday). She even chose my very earth toned, understated "Army Cheerleader" Camouflage Pom Pom Long Skinny Boa Handknit Scarf (shown below)--what discipline! The 2nd row of images, with the frog, is my favorite--what's yours??
FeltWerker's New Treasury Really "Werks!"
Denise is CraftWerker.etsy.com. Her shop concept is fantastic and eco-friendly: she upcycles old, wool sweaters into new, perfectly fabulous felted items. And with Earth Day just around the corner (April 22), we could all use a little reminder to do as my Aunt Gertie always says, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without." :)
Denise has just announced her new, online store, FeltWerker.etsy.com, full of supplies and cool kits (like the fantastic kit shown above to make felted flowers)!
And she's opening with a *bang!* with her beautiful treasury of fiber art, which includes my Lime Green Fettuccine Macaw Ribbon Handknit Scarf (shown below). Please visit her treasury at http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=6105 through Sunday!
Non-Color Never Looked So Good!
Marjorie at WHSKR.etsy.com is so hip 'n' happenin'! Not only does she live in exciting New Zealand, she also is a member of EtsyForAnimals (we members of EFA sell on Etsy and donate to animal charities)! And she makes unique, collector quality dolls that are one-of-a-kind! Her dolls are colorful and whimsical, but I'm displaying this pin of hers here because...
She just made a Study in Monochrome treasury featuring items from fellow EFA members, and was kind enough to include my
Shades of Silver, Soft Grey or Gray Unisex Handknit Scarf for All Seasons, Year Round Wear, shown below.
Check out her entire collection of "un-color" at http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=37464 through Sunday!
What a (Cruelty Free) Treat!
Can you believe that the gorgeous collection of cruelty free (vegan) items put all together at http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=36781 by DaisyWares.etsy.com is her very first treasury?? She makes it look like she's been doing this for years!
Well, one thing she has been doing for years is spreading the vegan message--Roni's been vegan for 24 years! Way to go, DaisyWares! I couldn't decide which fun and inviting piece of Roni's to show here, so I picked both her Copper Swarovski Crystal Wire Wrapped Ring and her Delicate Chandelier Earrings. Go ahead and shop for anything at DaisyWares.etsy.com, guilt-free--not only are her products cruelty free, she donates 10% of proceeds to a nonprofit called the Animal Place in Vacaville, CA!
Please come check her shop out today, and her treasury (which includes my Cotton Candy Buttered Popcorn Pink n Golden Yellow Handknit Scarf at the Movies, shown below) is viewable through Thursday!
Roni, thanks for thinking of me for your very first treasury--it looks fantastic!
Simone So Sweet!
I really wish I was savvy enough to figure out how to curate a treasury! Treasuries are pages filled with 12 items that the curator selects to feature. It's quite tricky to even get that chance, and then complicated from there! You can see all the treasuries at http://www.etsy.com/treasury.php, and Simone of SandAndSkyCreations.etsy.com has mastered the technique, it seems! I'm always blown away whenever she puts me in one of her gorgeous treasuries. I wish I could do more in return! The hat pictured above is soooo soft and decadently luxurious, and Simone is donating 20% of sales to help free Tibet! I think it would go nicely with my Booster Gold Baby Yellow Gold and Baby Navy Blue Handknit Scarf (below) that she chose for her latest treasury, viewable through Monday at http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=36436. See you there!
Afton's Jewelry is Rock Solid!
Have you seen Afton's perfect-for-anytime jewelry shop at aftonee.etsy.com? With names like Dripping Tahiti, Daiquiri and the beautiful Grassy Green Chalk Turquoise Necklace (above), her work is a sure winner! Afton's online shop is new, and she's already giving back (from her profile):
"5% of each sale is donated to Kots for Kids of Journey Missions, a relief project in Honduras, Central America. This project provides beds to Honduran children who have been sleeping on dirt floors. Many of these children have parasites which leads to many other health problems. Please help with this work!"
And Afton's generosity includes featuring other artists' work, too! She just chose my Spring Moss Green Soft n Light Handknit Scarf scarf for her most recent treasury, viewable through Monday at http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=36604
Afton, if what comes around goes around, you're in for a lot of fun and success on Etsy.com!
